Summer 2013


This summer, I had the privilege of working full-time in the Laser Teaching Center. I explored a number of topics from characterizing bacteria by their scattering patterns, to creating apodization using the Fresnel diffraction pattern from a circular aperture, to finally creating optical vortices using a spiral phase plate. My final project focused on creating improved optical vortex beams using a spiral phase plate. A collection of some of the work I completed can be found below.
