Biography

My name is Ekaterina (Katya) Sergan and I am currently a fourth year undergraduate student at the University of California at Davis. My major concentration is in Physics and I hope to enroll in graduate school after receiving my Bachelor of Science degree in spring 2011. I intend on becoming an experimental researcher and my goals for the Stony Brook REU experience are to gain instrumentation skills at the Laser Teaching Center, as well as participate in active research and gain knowledge about the variety of research possibilities in the field of optics.
