Soap Films
Why are flowing soap films
studied?
Flowing soap films are used to study air turbulence, weather
patterns, and atmospheric flows. With the use of thin film interference
on a flowing film, it is possible to see flows that are otherwise not
visible.
Optical Uses of Soap
Films:
- Thin Film
Interference. Interference of waves reflecting from air-soap interface and
soap-air interface that causes light and dark interference bands with a
monochromatic light.
