My name is Matthias and I'm a visitor from Bonn, Germany. I'll be here for four weeks. I was born in New Haven, but my family moved to Germany when I was 2 years old. When I was 8 years old, I started learning to play the cello, which became my favorite hobby. Four years later I started participating in a competition called "Jugend Musiziert", which means something like "youth musicians". Till now I participated four times, solo and in various ensembles. I'm in 11th grade in the gymnasium,which is the German equivalent to high school. I was always interested in science, not only because of my father's job, but also since I engaged a lot in reading and learning about things like astronomy or biology for myself. I'm also interested in philosophy.
